We have got guite a many comments on the pulse issue. Our team is investigating the dilemma, maybe we should introduce some alternative tariff for those who see this important, thank you for the feedback.
Someone anonymous commented the illegal VOIP issue, saying removing benefits of crime would solve the case. Cannot quite buy this argument; why should something illegal be legal in order to control it? Like reducing tobacco excise taxes to zero to get rid of smuggling.
There has been questions about the coverage of 3G. Unfortunately our coverage is good enough only in Kathmandu but we are contantly building more sites in biggest cities, there are now 14 cities plus Everest. Please check before buying the Ncell Connect that there is coverage in your area to avoid any disappointments. Coverage maps are at our web site and you can ask from Ncell Centres our service centre at 9005 before buying, Thanks.
In general, I would not like to compare Nepal with India in telecoms. In India the scale of economy is so huge that it might not make it appropriate to copy thing from there. Mobile Operators in India seem to be well below the profitability line; fair treatment from regulator should enable the investments to the sector everywhere in the world. In Nepal, we are in the phase of sky rocketing growth of mobile penetration and in order to be able to bring more coverage to more, we should not go too down in tariffs.
And now to plane again!
I too don't compare Ncell with Indian Operator as it can't be too. India is being counted in one of the developing country in world. Not only in telecom sector but in many sector Nepal can't be compared with India. Let's talk here about Nepal, our country is one of the corrupted country. There is no such any place where we customer can complain directly to government. Government too don't respond feedback quickly as you do. Corruption starts first from government and then from other. Thanks Ncell for responding quickly and listening to user. But we also don't like to get just false hope that you will discuss in team about it as Nepal government do in various fields like electricity, drinking water and telecom. We just want quick change. Sorry to say but I am unsatisfied with your statement about 2 seconds extra call time. Everybody knows Ncell is upgraded to Next Generation Technology and is faster than before. By using this technology, I don't think your system will take 2 second extra for recognising that 'really you have ended the call' or 'call is coming' actually this is not happening with other operator in Nepal. We will also like to have 1 second pulse rate. As mostly we have to talk just for yes or no. Instead of Ramro and Sajilo tariff, there should be pay per minute, pay per call or pay per second tariff. And user must be able to change their tariff plan as per their desire with suitable fees. At last Ncell is great. I hope for your improvement in future.
ReplyDeleteWhen will you start these notifications like "the ncell no. you are calling is out of reach"; "the ncell no. you are calling is right now on another call, please wait or try after sometime"; and "the ncell no. you are calling is switched off, if you want to send a voice message press STAR followed by your mobile no. charges only 99paise per minute.?"
ReplyDeleteOn the way back from Bardia to Nepalgunj Airport I need to catch airplane as I reached Babai River in middle of the forest area our vehicle was running in the speed of above 60 KM/Hour and I was trying to confirm my air ticket from the e-mail where there was necessity of the internet connection and I noticed that my Ncell connect blinked green signal and was connect to edege. I was so amazed that in-spite of speed of the vehicle I was able to connect to the internet and confirm my ticket in the last hours..... Thanks to Ncell.
ReplyDeleteEven though there are lot of problems in telecommunications sector the major obstacles seems to be the telecommunications Act, which was made on 1996 about 17 years back and in that time NTC was the only GSM and fixed line Operator. The Act is very traditional and there lot of points need to be changed because this Act directly goes in favor to some other operators. In the beginning NTC had Monopoly of Pricing they used to charge more than NRs 30,000 for a SIM card and now we can find Rs. 99 worth SIM card everywhere..... Thanks to Ncell.
When Ncell came with the effective tariff rates the NTC started to copy cat the same nowadays, Same Tariff Rate, Same Marketing Strategy even the Same Advertising styles. I noticed that in front of Maitighar Mandala Ncell advertising in the billboard whereas NTC add on above that with the same actions.... is this the professional way of doing business ???
The Nepal Government is always in favor of Government Telecom operator and it can expand its services at any time as per its wish because there is a very strong relationship between government and NTC. After being Nepal Telecom a private company government must treat each and every operator equally, specially private operators.
Ncell connect needs to suit the wallet of Nepali users. I have no idea what can one do with just 500mb data per month.
ReplyDeleteNcell is great operator in Nepal than other. We need more facilities like facebook text service, voice sms, 1 second pulse rate.
ReplyDeleteDear Friends, thanks again for your active commenting. In general, I cannot answer on "When" questions: we do consider every initiative but decide on launch of every service based on demand of public. There has to be enough scale in making specific services viable.
ReplyDeletencell removed night service of Rs.0.70/minute, why?
ReplyDeleteNCELL gprs is not cheaper than NTC gprs
ReplyDeleteis web sms service removed from NCELL?
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading the blog and comments. I really appreciated for Ncell making lot of difference in Nepalese lives. After entering Ncell in Nepal made several opportunity to have service in telecommunication, internet and other tariff.
ReplyDeletePlease consider, for all to use blackberry service and other 4g services before other
competitors rises and Ncell is Number one and try to maintain number one always.
Why i cant view my balance by dialing *901# or *101#
ReplyDeleteTwo answers for two comments: yes we still have night tariff at Ramro scheme. And you can still check your balance by above dialing codes.
ReplyDeleteI do agree the mobile operators in india are below the profitability line, im an import export trader and i read this blog about Indian Export/Import Goods and it looks like they have way too many competition.
